| Frequently Asked Questions | |
| What are some major advantages of bar coding? | In general bar coding uses input devices such as scanners to input data automatically into a system. This greatly reduces input errors and the time it would take to manually enter information; thus generating a large return on investment (ROI) quickly. |
| How large of an operation do I need to begin bar coding? | Bar coding may be implemented in virtually every size of business from a small operation all the way through the enterprise level. Anytime a company has inventory, work in process, fixed assets, shipping/receiving, or anything that needs tracking, bar coding is very effective in automating these processes. |
| How much money should I expect to spend on starting a bar coding system? | Depending on the scope and size of the system, bar coding systems may run from a few thousand dollars to a few million dollars. When analyzing a bar code system, a company needs to consider how much time and money they are losing by not automating their processes. The idea is to streamline the processes and use man hours more efficiently. Just think of how long it would take to key in every price next time you are in line at the grocery store! |
| Will a bar code system integrate into my current host system? | This is a question often asked regarding current host systems. There are many factors involved in determining if a bar code system can integrate into an existing system. This requires a consultation between TBS and the appropriate IT/Operations personnel for an accurate determination. It is safe to say that TBS is very often able to integrate its software into existing systems. |
| Does Texas Barcode Systems support my solution in addition to selling the solution? | Texas Barcode Systems has a support team that operates 24/7. This is a huge advantage to purchasing a system through us-customer support, on site training, and turn key implementation. The sale is only the beginning of the relationship. |

| How does Tracx® WMS generate a quick Return on Investment (ROI)? | TBS has an ROI model that is used as a tool for you to see how we can save you money over time. Usually ROI can be realized in months instead of years depending on the application. |
| What is the best hardware to use for my application? | Hardware requirements are greatly determined by the scope of the project. Texas Barcode Systems will make the appropriate recommendation based on functionality, price, support, warranty, application requirements, and end user specifications. |
| Will I outgrow my bar code system? Does Texas Barcode Systems offer a "scalable" solution? | Tracx® WMS is a scalable solution. The first option is available as an Application Service Provider (ASP) model. This is a great option for emerging companies since all you pay for is the hardware and a monthly user fee for the software. Great leasing options are available for the hardware. A site survey and installation of the RF equipment is required. TBS hosts the data and handles administration and support. You have access to everything in real time. Imagine the full functionality of a Tier 1 or Tier 2 WMS package for a low monthly fee! The other option is the customer buys the hardware and software as a package. It is scaled by how many end users needed and how large your facility needs are. As you grow you can add more functionality to the WMS as well as users, privileges, etc. Remember that Tracx® WMS may tie into Tracx® Print and Apply, Tracx® Automated Routing and Sortation, and/or any combination! The database structures are built using the same structure for seamless integration into your host system(s). |
